The Great Debate

Will Property or Precious Metals be the Safest Investment of the 2020s?

Join us on 14th October for the Great Debate!

It’s time for the Beaufort Society’s latest live event and we want to see your name on the guest list.

With such a strange, uncertain start to the decade even the most experienced investors are struggling to understand how things will pan out.

It looks like being a decade where wealth preservation will be every bit as important as wealth creation.

So we thought the best thing we can do is to ask two leaders in their field which asset class will be the safest investment of the 2020s. Not necessarily the asset whose price will be the highest in pound notes by 2030, but the one most likely to retain its real value despite the best efforts by politicians and central bankers to create inflation, debase the currency and continue the unwritten policy of financial repression!

And boy have we delivered with our choice of experts.

Meet the Experts providing their insight at The Great Debate!

Ross Norman is the founder of Metalsdaily.com, the authoritative independent voice on the precious metals markets. The former head of gold broker Sharps Pixley has been the go-to guy for financial journalists for over a decade and has appeared in two of my Sky TV series. He will focus on gold in all its forms, the asset with the 5,000 year track record of retaining its value against all attacks.

John Howard has decades of experience in every aspect of the property market as an investor, a developer and the owner of a chain of estate agencies. His career started as a teenager when he took over and turned around his father’s struggling firm, and has gone from strength to strength through all the ups and downs in the property market since the 1970s. This gives him a great perspective on how to use property to best effect, and explains why people pay thousands of pounds to be coached by him.

The Format Of The Great Debate

Each speaker will put the case for his asset class, then we will open the floor to questions. At the end of the evening there will be a vote. The ’winning’ speaker will receive a bottle of champagne and will pick one of the winning voters out of the hat to also win a bottle of bubbly.

We have a maximum of 50 seats available so please book early and observe the rule that each member is limited to one guest.
